KahunaCart 1.2.0 adds 66 changes to checkout and store operations. It remains a private release, with early access planned for a later version.
Cart recovery and customer communication
Cart recovery emails include a signed link that restores the cart using current prices. The workflow sends one reminder, and the Recovery screen reports restored carts and the recovery rate.
Customers can also receive shared-cart links and email sign-in links. The email log records messages and retries. Order notices preserve changes such as an expired coupon or unavailable item, while a separate queue highlights orders requiring staff attention.
Checkout fields and addresses
Checkout fields can be configured with conditions and placed in four template regions. Add-ons and merchants can add fields such as delivery dates or gift messages without overriding a template.
Country records hold editable address layouts, required fields, postcode rules and phone rules. The system covers 249 country records, with approximately sixty address layouts described in this release. Pickup locations add addresses and opening hours, with tax based on the collection location. Quantity limits and deposits provide more control over purchases and payment timing.
Settings and order status
Store settings are available within the KahunaCart admin, with search and detection of conflicting options. Configuration can be exported and imported between stores.
Order, payment and fulfillment statuses have explicit behavior flags, including whether they count as paid, affect stock or represent a final state. Customer-facing labels can differ from internal labels.
Shipping and tax
Shipping supports six rate types, cost expressions, class policies and multiple parcels with separate methods. Unavailable methods display a reason. Live carrier integrations remain outside core.
Tax-inclusive pricing can vary by region. Tax tables support compound rates and CSV import and export, with an extension interface for regional tax services.
Performance
Filtered reports are ten times faster in the measured workload, and a migrator memory leak has been fixed. The published mixed-load SQLite run recorded a median of 147 ms and p95 of 377 ms on the 2 vCPU server with 250,000 orders, with zero errors. See the benchmarks for the test conditions.
Add-on rollback and analytics
Compensating hooks pair an add-on action with an undo. If a later step fails, completed actions are undone in reverse order. Five lifecycle points support this: order completion, payment capture, fulfillment creation, cancellation and refund. The event list now contains 71 events.
Analytics adds period comparisons, twelve metrics, sixteen filters and shareable views. Orders record their source, while item costs and margin are recorded at sale time so later price changes do not alter historical figures.
The documentation covers setup and behavior. Questions and feedback are welcome on the Grav Discord.
