KahunaCart 1.1.0 adds 58 changes focused on payments and extension development. It follows two fixes for report date ranges and misspelled searches on small stores. This remains a private release; early access will open later.
Authorize payments before capture
Supported providers can reserve the payment amount at checkout and capture it later. This lets staff check stock or prepare an order before collecting payment. If the order is cancelled, the authorization can be voided instead.
Stripe, PayPal, Checkout.com, Mollie and Shopify support this workflow. Payment records, order status and events track the result.
Saved methods and express checkout
Stripe is the first implementation of saved payment methods, using a provider token associated with the customer. It also supports off-session charging.
The cart and checkout have designated locations for Apple Pay, Google Pay and Link buttons. A shared styling contract lets themes present supported providers consistently.
Provider credentials are encrypted when saved. Capability documentation is generated from provider declarations and checked by tests. All 13 providers now declare the 1.1.0 contract, with subsequent changes following semantic versioning.
Add-on interfaces
Typed custom fields can be added to products, variants, orders, order items, customers and addresses. They use indexed columns and can be declared by an add-on or configured by a merchant.
Add-ons also gain a settings store, thirteen interface extension zones, named event constants and five plugin generators. The test harness provides an in-memory store for add-on tests.
Emails and integrations
Store emails are listed in one place with enable controls and template selection. Staff can preview messages against an order without sending them. Object templates provide editable formats for references, filenames and subjects.
Outbound webhooks support signed deliveries, retries and a delivery log. The storefront JSON API provides cart and checkout operations for JavaScript frontends and can be disabled in configuration.
Installation checks
The check command runs nine installation checks. The release also adds a job-queue screen, test-data reset options and reports for outdated template overrides. Admin tests identified and fixed two screens that failed when opened.
