Sell from your own site, on your own terms.

KahunaCart is a complete ecommerce platform that lives inside your website. Products, orders, and customers stay in your database, on your server, under a license you buy once. No platform rent, no per-sale cut, no one between you and your customers.

The whole store

Everything a real shop needs, in the box

Not a buy-button widget. KahunaCart handles the full life of a store, from the first product you add to the refund you issue two years later.

Products & variants

Images, galleries, stock tracking, and up to three option axes per product. Define Size and Color once and a matrix generator builds every combination with its own price, SKU, and stock.

Checkout that gets the math right

A full adjustment engine for discounts, shipping, and tax, with every amount stored in minor units. You will never see a floating-point rounding error on an invoice.

Tax without the spreadsheet

Tax zones and classes with ready-made EU VAT rates for all 27 member states. Or pick a merchant-of-record provider and let them remit it for you.

Shipping zones

Flat, weight-based, and price-based methods per zone, reading real per-variant weights. Coupons ride along: percentage, fixed cart, or fixed product.

Digital goods

Secure tokenized downloads delivered the moment payment lands. Cut versioned releases with their own notes and builds, and sell files, licenses, or both alongside physical products in the same order.

Customer accounts

Sign-up folds into checkout. Password resets, magic links, and two-factor all work out of the box, and customer data lives in your store database, not scattered account files.

Found by search engines

Product JSON-LD, Open Graph cards, sitemaps, and storefront search built in. Categories get real landing pages with breadcrumbs, not query strings.

Sell in any language

Translate your catalog, categories, and shipping labels. Orders remember the customer's language, so invoices and emails arrive in it, even months later.

Wired into your tools

Order and stock alerts to Slack, Discord, or any signed webhook. A delivery log tracks every webhook in and out, so "did it fire?" takes seconds to answer.

Try it right now

A real KahunaCart store, running right now

Kahuna Supply Co. is an ordinary KahunaCart shop on an ordinary server, with the storefront, the customer account area, and the admin all switched on. Nothing to install, nothing to sign up for.

Buy something Checkout runs end to end on the test payment provider. Orders complete, receipts go out, and no money changes hands.
See the customer side Sign in with the shared account printed on the demo's own sign-in page: order history, addresses, and downloads.
Open the back office The admin is unlocked read-only, credentials on screen. Walk through orders, products, customers, and reports.
Open the demo store

The whole store resets on the hour, so click anything you like.

The foundation

The only cart that comes with a whole CMS

Hosted platforms give you a store and then charge extra to blog next to it. KahunaCart is built on Grav, the open-source flat-file CMS that has powered tens of thousands of sites for over a decade. Your shop, your blog, your docs, and your landing pages are one site, managed in one place.

Fast by architectureFlat-file pages with no database in the request path, plus smart caching throughout. Content stays quick while commerce gets a proper database: SQLite out of the box, MySQL or PostgreSQL when you want them.
Extensible everywhereHundreds of free plugins and themes, a real event system, and a plugin API that KahunaCart itself is built on. If you can extend Grav, you can extend your store.
Yours to changeEvery storefront template is Twig you can override, or skip entirely and drop buy buttons into the theme you already have. No locked checkout, no "contact sales" tier for editing your own pages.

Grav CMS underneath

Open source, battle-tested, and loved by the people who run it. KahunaCart is built by the team that builds Grav itself, so the store and the CMS will never drift apart.

Run the shop

An admin built for the person behind the counter

A complete store app inside the Grav admin: dashboard, orders, products, customers, and reports, with its own navigation and none of the clutter. Refund an order, fulfill a shipment, or invite a customer in a couple of clicks.

  • Order timeline from cart to completed, with payment, fulfillment, and refund status tracked separately
  • Manual orders priced by the same engine as the storefront cart
  • Sales reports, low-stock alerts, and a webhook delivery log
  • Catalog import and export as plain YAML

Who it's for

One license, three kinds of seller

Shop owners

Run the whole store from one friendly admin, from products to refunds. Your costs are known on day one: the license, your hosting, and your payment provider's rate. Nothing skims off the top as you grow.

Developers & agencies

Build client stores on a stack you can actually read: Twig templates, YAML config, a real event system, and a documented provider API. One flat per-site license bills cleanly to the client, with no subscription for you to babysit.

Makers & side projects

Selling downloads, merch, or a course next to your blog shouldn't mean a second platform. Add a shop to the site you already have, and let a merchant-of-record provider handle the tax paperwork.

Payments

Fourteen providers. Pick yours, or several.

Payments work through provider plugins, so your checkout is never married to one processor. Run more than one at a time, and switch without touching your catalog.

Bundled with every license

Ready the day you install.

Stripe Polar MoR PayPal Offline / bank transfer Test provider free

One-time add-ons, $29–49

Each built and tested against the provider's live API.

Mollie Paddle MoR Lemon Squeezy MoR Square SumUp Checkout.com Shopify Chargebee Invoice Ninja

MoR means merchant of record: the provider handles tax remittance for you, worldwide. Refunds are first-class across every provider, including the asynchronous kind where approval comes later and a webhook settles the books. Stripe and Polar can also sync your catalog in either direction. And because payment happens on the provider's own PCI-compliant checkout, card numbers never touch your server.

Pricing

Buy it once. It's yours.

Shopify's cheapest plan costs more than KahunaCart every single year, forever. Here, you pay once per site, and renewal is a choice, not a hostage situation.

After the first year

$59/year, optional

Keeps you on the latest version, with every new feature and every security fix. Skip it and your store keeps running on the version you have: nothing gets disabled, ever. Renew later whenever you want to jump forward.

Ecommerce needs this in a way a blog never will: payment providers change their APIs constantly, and the renewal is what keeps fourteen live integrations current.

Founders lock in $29/year for the life of the license.

No lock-in, no kill switch. A lapsed license never breaks your store.

One renewal covers everything on the site. Provider add-ons are one-time purchases, and your site's single renewal keeps every add-on you own updated. No per-plugin renewal stack, no surprise invoices.

Questions

The fine print, in plain words

What happens if I never renew?

Your store keeps working on the version you have, with no time limit, no nag screens, and nothing disabled. Renew later and you jump straight to the current version. One honest caveat: security fixes and compatibility work land in new versions rather than being backported, so a store that never updates won't receive them, and a major PHP or Grav upgrade down the road may eventually need a current version to run on.

Is this hosted? Do you touch my data?

No and no. KahunaCart runs on your own server, on any ordinary PHP host. Products, orders, and customers live in your database. We never see your sales, your customers, or your revenue.

Do I have to worry about PCI compliance?

Card entry happens on your payment provider's hosted, PCI-compliant checkout page, so card numbers never pass through your server. Your site handles the catalog, the cart, and the order record; the provider handles the sensitive part.

What do I need to run it?

A Grav 2.0 site and PHP. SQLite works out of the box with nothing to configure; point it at MySQL or PostgreSQL if your shop outgrows it.

What does early access mean, honestly?

The core is solid and heavily tested, with over 3,900 automated tests and a full security audit behind it. But no amount of testing replaces real stores selling real things. Early access buyers get half price now and a $29/year renewal forever, in exchange for helping find the rough edges before 1.0.

Can I use my existing Grav theme?

Yes. KahunaCart ships theme-agnostic templates and Twig functions, so you can drop a buy button or a product grid into any theme. The free Kahuna theme is there if you'd rather start from a storefront design.

Let's build some stores.

Half price during early access, a founders renewal locked at $29/year, and a store that's yours for good.
